Lori, Also in the Ireland research there are three other Ireland boys Abraham, Gilbert, and Ephraim that came from Putnam County era 1800's it states that they originally came from Greenwich, Connecticut then later show up in the town of North Castle, Westchester County, New York. Joseph Norton also says that Irelands came from England.
Found in the encyclopedia (Ironmonger) William Ireland (1696-1679).I have heard of this book that says "The Trials of William Ireland,Thomas Pickering and John Grove for conspiring to murder the King who upon Full Evidence were found guilty of High Treason At The Sessions House in the Old -Baily December the 17th 1678. And recieved sentence accordingly(printer Robert Pawlet London printed. 1678) I wonder if this William is father or Grandfather to our William & Abigail.England maybe thats why they talk of a distant land? Who knows? Also have you ever heard about the William Henry Ireland (1777-1835 the forger of the Shakespeare manuscripts?
I am not sure but I think your right that there is no proof that Abraham is Abigail Greenland Ireland son. Thanks would love to find out for sure though. Beth
