Was your William Greening born about 1811 and did David have a brother named Absalom (born abt.1835 Glos)? Absalom I have an Absalom Greening in my tree, who was born in Gloucestershire abt.1835, though I have no idea what place. Absalom married Anne Harding (b.1826) in Woolwich 23 Jan 1856 and he died in Aston in 1883. Absalom was a gunner and driver in the Royal Artillery and therefore he moved around a lot. In the 1861 Census he is shown billetted at Dorchester Barracks and in 1871 at Golden Hill Fort on the Isle of Wight. By 1881 he has left the army and is living in Duddeston, Aston, Birmingham.
I would be interested to know if there is any connection, and whether you or anyone else has any more information about Absalom and his military service.
