Greening family of Joplin MO

My great-grandfather's name was, I am told, "William David Greening" and he was born in Joplin MO sometime in the late 1800's. I know nothing else. I know that there is a substance abuse facility named after a Scott Greening in Joplin, which I assume would be from the same branch of the family.

Does anybody on here know anything about the Greenings who once lived in that part of MO?
