Melvin had three older sisters, Roberta Viola, b. 2Dec1907, m. Albert Schneider; Juanita Fayetta, b.16Sept1911, m. Edwin Crawford; Gladys Mildred b. 12July1914, m. Fred Davis. All three sisters ended up in Corona, CA and are buried in the Sunnyslope-Corona Cemetery there. Melvin's parents, Robert and Florence are also buried in Corona, CA, but had previously lived in Rolla, MO. Melvin's Grandfather was James Greenhalgh, married to Melissa Toy. They were both born in Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh area). They had seven children. Ola, Frank (my grandfather), Vernon(Judge), Robert(Melvin's father), Chelsea, William(Chief), and Lucille(Johnny). Robert moved from Iowa to Chicago during the depression to find work after the coal mines shut down in Iowa. James was the son of Robert and Ellen Greenhalgh, both born in England, and moved to America to work in the coal mines. Moved to Iowa in the 1880s to work the coal mines there.
