Your grandmother Ruth, was my dad's cousin, although he knew her as Marcella as she was growing up. She was one of seven children. LaVerne Ethel, Blanche June, Viola Arletta, Helen Melissa, Chelsea Lloyd, Ruth Marcella, and Joseph James. Viola, Helen and Chelsea all died in the same week in 1918 (I think) during a diphtheria epidemic. Your great grandmother Ola (pronounced Olee by the family) was also one of seven children. (With nicknames) Ola, Frank (My grandfather), Vernon(Judge), Robert, Chelsea, William(Chief) and Lucille(Johnny). Ola was born 9/9/1884, died 11/1/1967 and is buried in the Bussey cemetery in Bussey, Iowa. Your G-G-Grandfather, James Greenhalgh was born 9/21/1862 at Beard's Station, PA (near Pittsburgh). Married Melissa Toy 9/26/1883. Both buried in Oskaloosa, IA. James' parents, Robert and Ellen Greenhalgh both born in England, buried in McKeesport, PA. The family were coal miners.
