You are right about this. I had two ancestors whose first names were Greenbury/Greenberry and have seen it used as a first name in many of the old Maryland families. Mine were in Cecil and Charles counties, but it was not used in our line until 1814 in Kentucky. My own grandfather had that name but did not like it and was called "G.B." and most people did not know his real name.
A friend is a descendant of Nicholas, so I am researching it for her.
