Update on my Pitts family.............
ROBERT G. (or J.). PITTS born in North or South Carolina in 1813 and died Brooks County Georgia between 1870-1880.
He married JERUSHA MEARTON (Martin? Morton?) born in South Carolina in 1809 and died in Brooks County, Georgia in 1880. They were married in 1834 in Lowndes County Alabama
Children:
1. Helena or Ellena Pitts born 1835 in Alabama married Hardy Boyn 1869 in Brooks County, Georgia. 5 children
2. Sarah Ann Elizabeth Pitts born 1838 in Meriwether County, Georgia. Died about 1908 Lowndes County, Georgia. Never married. Four children. James Thomas Pitts, Charles George Pitts, Mollie Pitts, and Moses GREENBERRY Pitts. Children's
father rumored to be a Seminole Indian.
James Thomas Pitts married Dora Ann Catherine Durst. 10 children. Charles George Pitts married Keziah Ann Durst. Two children. He married second, Eliza Durst. James and Charles lived in South Georgia. Mollie Pitts never married. One daughter Sarah Pitts. Moved to Tampa, Florida. Moses Greenberry Pitts married Janie Weeks, Moved to Augusta, Georgia
3. Eletha or Letha Ann Pitts born in Meriwether County Georgia in 1840. Married Charles White in Brooks County, Georgia in 1861. I thin she had one son beofre her marriage. Joseph(Josiah) A. Pitts was born in Calhoun County, Georgia in 1858. Married Sarah Elizabeth (Sallie) Johnson in 1881 in Brooks County, Georgia. At least three children including John A.Pitts, James C.Pitts, Sarah Ann Elizabeth (Betty) Pitts.
4. Moses Greenberry Pitts was born in Meriwether County, Georgia in 1844. He died in Jackson, MS in 1862. Enlisted in 25th infantry Company L Calhoun County, GA. He died in a hospital Jackson, MS. He spent most of 1864 confined in a hospital in Colquitt County, GA.
