Hello Ray, Thanks once again for getting back in touch so quickly. Having had a chance to look further at the information you sent me yesterday, I'm sure there is a connection between these Greenaways and those of my husband. As such, I'd be delighted to take up your offer re: the baptism dates of the children. My husband's 2x great-grandfather was named Charles Greenaway. We know that he was born in Goodrich, Herefordshire, sometime between the late 1820s and mid-1830s. We believe that his wife was named Sarah and that she was born at Ganarew, Hereford, circa 1840/41. I know that the couple were living at West Dean, Gloucestershire, in 1859, where Charles had found employment, as an iron forge worker. Indeed, they continued to live in the Forest-of-Dean for the remainder of their lives, moving from West Dean to English Bicknor and later to East Dean and The Coppice, Lydbrook. Amongst their childre were Thomas, George, Alice, Ellen, Maria, Evan, Margaret and William. William, born 1866/67, is my husband's great-grandfather. He married Catherine Watkins in 1891. Their children were: Ada, Charles, Cassie, Bill, Leonard, Hilda, Reginald and May [my husband's grandmother]. Following the closure of the Lydbrook Tin Works in 1915, William Green[a]way was offered alternative employment at the tin works in Caerleon and so moved to 3, Cross Street, Caerloen, with his family. I have had previous correspondence from a Mr. Terence Gibbs and a Mrs. Marjorie Milton both of whom descend from the aforementioned Charles Greenaway. My husband has also been in touch with Mr. Norman Greenway, son of Charles and Esther Greenway [nee Knight]. Another Greenaway contact I have [although unrelated to my husband's Green[a]ways], is that of Mr. Hugh Greenaway from Scotland who has traced his Greenaway ancestral roots to Ireland. If you can add anything to the information I already have, I'd be delighted to hear from you; also, if you feel that any of the information I hold may be of any help to you, then let me know and I'd be more than pleased to share it with you. Many thanks for responding to my Genforum request, Regards, Sue.
