Abram Mahlon Green PA and SC Parents Afr-Am
Hello. I am hoping someone can help me in my search for the ancestry of Abram Mahlon Green born 20 Feb 1882. He was African American. He lived in Whitemarsh, Pa. in 1918 and his wife's name was Beatrice. His 1918 Draft Registration card states that his parents were born in Pennsylvania. Oral history in the family is that his ancestors may have lived in South Carolina. Sometime in the early 1920s, he changed his name to Boyer following a breaking of the law (stealing chickens, etc., is the story). He left Beatrice before 1930. She is found with her children in the Sherborne, NY census of 1930 with the last name Boyer. Thank you for any assistance you are able to give me.
