Leonard CALVERT, in 1644, called Leonard GREEN "godson."
Thomas GREEN was a boyhood friend of Leonard CALVERT & second governor of MD.He was one of the gentlemen of fashion on the Ark, second son of Sir Thomas GREEN, knight, whose great-grandfather received the rectory of Bobbing from Henry VIII upon the dissolution of the monasteries.Robert, brother of Thomas, came to Maryland but returned to England.Thomas named his manor "Bobbing" after the ancestral estate.[Ref:Halsted's Kent Vol. 2, pp. 543-4 & 635-9.Berry's Kent Pedigrees.
