In New Britain, Hartford Co., CT, in 1900, there were two girls named Annie SCANLON, b. 1882, May and August.Do you have the month of birth for your Annie? This one seems more likely:
SCANLON, Cornelius, b. Jan. 1866, Ireland, immigrated 1885?
Siblings born in Connecticut:Michael, Dec. 1873; Mary, Jan. 1879; Bridget, Feb. 1880; Annie, Aug. 1882; & Margaret, Jan. 1886.
In New Britain, 1880, there were SCANLON:
Thomas, 45, & wf. Bridget, 40, they & parents b. Ireland.
Children born in England: Cornelius, 13; James, 10; Richard, 8
Ch.b. CT:Michael, 6; Catherine, 4; Mary, 1.
However, censuses are not always exact, so you might consider the Farmington, Hartford Co., CT, family in 1880 of Patrick & Catharine, who also had a Mary, aged 3.
I could not find a Thomas and Annie in New Britain except that there were Anna L., 47, with Thomas R. GREENE, 47.Do you know whether your Annie was ever Anna and had a middle name?
Social Security Death Index:Anna GREENE (7 July 1882 - Oct. 1977) last res. New Britain, Hartford, CT.If that is your Anna, you might try to get her obituary. Is this your Mary CHUTE?(24 Feb. 1879 - Feb. 1965, CT).Neither birth month matches the census of 1900.
Do not worry about the spelling.Over the centuries, people have added and removed the final -e in many Green families.
If you look for the vital records of all members of your family, you'll probably find more clues for Thomas GREEN[E].
