Hello Nic,
My maternal Grandmother, Elsie Violet Mitchell, was born on 19 February 1882 at Blackness Castle, which is near Linlithgow in Scotland. The Record of her birth states that her parents were James Mitchell and Eliza Mitchell, maiden surname Green, who were were married on 19 June, 1867 in England. At the date of her birth, Blackness Castle was the Army's central ammunition depot in Scotland.
The Record of Elsie's marriage (which took place in her parents house in Cupar, Scotland in 1915) gives her Father's occupation as "Master Gunner-Pensioner".
If this information ties in with what you know, I can supply information about Elsie and her family. I have no information about the family histories of Eliza or James. Can anyone assist ?
