I had difficulty finding the family you mentioned because, on the censuses, Reuben Simpson is listed as R. S. GREEN. He was 28 in 1870 and only 30 in 1880. I suspect that he was more likely born about 1842. The birth year for his wife would be 1848/9, as "Sally" was 21 in 1870 and "Sallie" was 31 in 1880. There was a George GREEN, 20, with them in 1870, possibly his younger brother or nephew. The only child in 1870 was Bethina, who was Bethena in 1880. Here's the family in 1880, Precinct 4, Llano Co., TX:
R. S. GREEN, 30, cattle raiser, MO NC NC
Sallie, 31, AR KY TN
Bethena, 10
John O., 6 [must be John Oliver]
Maggie L., 3. [must be Mattie].
[This census does give you clues that Reuben was born in Missouri of parents born in North Carolina.]
In 1880, there were Francis TEAGUE & F. C. TEAGUE of Texas, neither of Llano County. Check FamilySearch database of the census, online.
