Have you looked for James Henry Green's WWI draft registration? Also is the Jas P Green listed in 1900 census? or his widow Martha? If you don't find Jas P. in the census, then I'd check for a will or probate records, which might list the children. It was quite common to farm out some or all of the children when a parent(s) died, and they usually went to kin who would presumably treat them right. Marie Notify Administrator about this message?
