Sorry that this has taken so long.Don't know how I missed your response.
William is still a mystery to me although I now believe that he had a brother John who also lived in Pendleton District, SC.
I have been sorting through the William Green "South Carolina Claims Arising Out of the Revolution" file and think that I have isolated my William's claims.They are for being a spy in the company of Captain John Norwood and for militia duty under Col Anderson.His service under Norwood makes him one of "Marion's Men" as Norwood served under Marion.
There are claims from another William Green who supplied beef.I believe that he was from Orangeburg and had a son Daniel.This William signs with a mark.
There is possibly another William Green who did milita duty in Water's Regiment.
