Greens, Abbeville County, South Carolina, 1800 and before
Hi,
I am seeking information regarding any Greens in Abbeville County, South Carolina in 1800 and before.I am a descendant of one of the two Robert Greens that appear there on the 1800 census. He is age 26-45, with a wife age 16-25 and two daughters under the age of ten.His wife is Nancy Wood or Woods. On the same page is one Zedekiah Wood and family.Robert and Nancy Green name a son born in 1803 Zedekiah. There is also a Jacob Lollar on the same page, he is the uncle of two Lollar siblings who marry two of the Green children in Missouri in the 1820s and 30s.
This Robert Green family migrated from South Carolina to Cumberland County, Kentucky by 1805, with a possible short stop in North Carolina.Wife Nancy Wood Green dies in Kentucky about 1805 and Robert remarries and has a whole flock of kids with his second wife. That is material for another post.
Robert Green and Nancy Wood children are Elizabeth, born before 1800, Susannah, born by 1800, John, born about 1800, and Zedekiah Samuel, born 1803.Susannah, John and Zedekiah are all in St. Louis County, Missouri between 1820 and 1850.I have been unable to track Elizabeth, and have no idea who she married.
I would love any information tying these Greens to other Greens from Abbeville County, or any information about them in general.
Thanks for your help.
