Jo Ann:
I am not a Holloway researcher but rather a desc. from Stephen Green mar to Jemima Scott who came from VA to Rowan Co., N.C. and then Madison Co., KY where he died in 1802. He had a son Stephen Green Jr. who mar. Elizabeth "Betsy" Stewart [Stuart. He died abt 1797 and I believe that his wife then mar Jacob Halloway.
Marriage: Stephen Green Jr. mar Elizabeth Stewart (Stuart) 29 Nov 1792.
Death: Stephen Green Jr. died in 1797, Madison Co., KY.
Marriage: Jacob Halloway married Betsy Green 18 Feb 1799 Bond date returned on 21Feb 1799 and the Bond was signed by Stephen Green, so believe this was a second marriage for Betsy.
DEATH: Sources: "The Greens of Falls of Rough" by Hugh Ridenour.Book says Willis once stated he was orphaned at 7.He was 3 when his father died and his grandfather died in 1802, his mother was still alive when his father died as she appeared on probate papers with his grandfather in reguards to his dad's estate.
Madison County Kentucky Book of Wills Appraisemsnts, Inventories, by Joy Hubble pp. 662-663: Settlement with William Green and Martin Green as executors for and in behalf of Stephen Green Senr. deceased who was admin's for Stephen Green Junr, dec'd and the said William and Martin having of late became guardians for the infant heirs of the said Stephen Green Junr deceased except Willis Green the whole being under consideration by us and also to divide the negroes that decended to the said infant heirs from the estate of Stephen Green deceased.
Children of Stephen Green Jr and Betsy were 1. Willis Green who served as a Representative for Grayson Co., KY for several terms, 2. Morgan Green who died and whose teenage chn went to live with Willis Green and his wf Ann. And 3. Nancy who mar.Evan Scott.
Not sure of Betsy Green's father's name but there was a JOHN STEWART that witnessed a deed for Stephen Green 16 day of Feb. 1770 Cumberland Co., North Carolina.Deed Book Vol 4, 1770-1772 Cumberland Co., N.C. This could be her father.
