The name Patiniott/Patiniotis/Patignott Malta
Posted by: Joe Patiniott (ID *****3595) Date: May 04, 2013 at 17:07:57

In researching my family tree I found one of my ancestors
Nicolas Giorgio Patignot was born in Patmos Greece 1670/1680 and married in Malta in 1699 to Margharita Anna Maria Massarella.
His father was Guiseppe(Iosif) Patignot who married Maria ? in Patmos? The surname could have been originally Patniotis,Patiniotis. Unfortunately Maltese records are in Latin so Christian names sound Italian. Also I have found the surname was misspelt or written phonetically. Can anybody help with how to find Greek records or has info that can help.
Regards,
Joe Patiniott
