LOWELL MA, USA--Peter J. Callianos, 90, passed away Tuesday, June 14th at Lowell General Hospital.
Peter was born October 27, 1920 in Scopelos, Greece a son of the late Ioannis and Ourania Callianos.
Peter came to the United States at an early age settling in Lowell with his family. He served his country in the Navy during World War II.
He was well known as the chef at the former Cove Restaurant in Billerica for over twenty years. Peter was an active member and former Parish Council Member at Assumption of Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Dracut.
A devoted husband and father, Peter loved to be with his family, he adored his grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
He leaves his loving wife of sixty-five years, Anna (Tsoukalas) Callianos of Lowell; two daughters, Nina Bouras and her husband Demetres of Lowell, and Rita LaBrie of Lowell; four grandchildren, James Bouras and his wife Sabine and their children, Demitri, Andre, and Ranya, Stacy Theofilopoulos and her husband Bill and their children, Nasia and Elias, Cyndi Glen and her fiance' Toby Gruntkosky of Nashua, N.H., and Peter LaBrie and his wife Heather and their children, Gaige and Haylee.
CALLIANOS -- A private funeral service was held on Thursday, June 16th at the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church. Interment was in Westlawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 1160 Mammoth Rd, Dracut, Ma. 01826. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Louis M.
