LOWELL -- Mr. Peter Antonopoulos, 83, passed away Sunday April 18th at Beth Israel Hospital .
Peter was born March 16, 1927 in Lowell, Massachusetts a son of the late George and Eugenia (Bilionis) Antonopoulos. He was the husband to the late Jennie (Panagakos) Antonopoulos who passed in 1987.
A lifelong resident of Lowell, Peter was educated through the Lowell Schools. He went on to serve his country in the Army during World War II.
Upon his return, Peter worked as a forklift operator for over 35 years at Jefferson-Smurfit Corporation in Waltham retiring in 1991.
He was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Lowell. An avid Red Sox fan and he enjoyed Rockingham Park.
He is survived by two sisters, Helen Palavras, and Mary Anastopoulos and her husband John all of Lowell; a brother-in-law, Stanley J. Panagakos and his wife Mary of Lowell, and several nieces and nephews.
ANTONOPOULOS -- Friends will be received at the M.R.LAURIN FUNERAL HOME 295 Pawtucket St. Lowell on Thursday from 5 to 8 P.M. The funeral will take place on Friday at 11:30 A.M. from the Funeral Home to be followed by services at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church at 12:30. Interment in Westlawn Cemetery.
