Hi Mike, Can see and appreciate your difficulty. Am an Australian married to a Greek and living here in Athens for the past 35 years. Have done extensive research into my side of the family tree but unfortunately cannot say the same for the Greek side. Recently went to the area where my husband's ancestors came from, only to have extreme difficulty being allowed to access some records, despite being accompanied by my husband and son. So much in Greece depends entirely upon the person in charge of municipality records on the day you visit, few are sympathetic to our needs. Copies of many records are only accessable to relatives with proof of relationship. In country areas births were often not recorded immediately, perhaps two or three children of the one family recorded at the same time. Often girls might not of been entered into the records at all. If I can be of any help, let me know, regards Pauline Notify Administrator about this message?
