Unfortunately I do not know where the death certificate is at this stage - I am tracking that down but my dad & 3 of his sisters who live here have absolutely nothing & say that their father didnt want anyone to know his age - perhaps much like your gandfather - her used many different dates of birth? My father's other 2 sisters are in France & Paris and we are tracking them down at present but we are fairly certain that they too have no documentation or any trace of grandfather's existance - sad really. My dad's brother lives in Brisbane but is travelling overseas, he may be our only hope as he was the eldest. I believe that everything was burnt - same as yours???
There must be some proof somewhere. Its very frustrating. I am trying to learn something about my family history but it is very vague & almost as though it would rather be forgotten.
There are no living relatives in Greece as they all came out here in the war & all the children were born in Australia.
