Hi Doris,

It seems lots of Greek lines people are tracing end up in Turkey... except mine which goes back to Corinthia in the Peloponnese.

Something else to check is getting genealogy information and all records on Gus' children to see where they were born as well.

My fiancee has some Norway ancestors in her tree and the way we found where the primary immigrant was born was on his son's WWI Draft Card (they had immigrated to Minnesota). It listed the father's birth location in legible writing. You could use information listed on Gus' children's documents as well and you might get lucky.

I am not sure how well the records in Turkey were kept, but theoretically there'd be Greek Orthodox churches where the Baptism/Marriage/Burial records were (hopefully) kept.
