Hello, I am looking for any information regarding dead or living relatives of my father and his brother and cousins who came to the U.S. from Toporista, Greece, a village now called Theoktiston. It is located North of Tripolis and South of Patras and near the towns of Kalivia Filion and Prasinon. My dad's father's name was Petros Eliopoulos, His mother's name was Aikatherina Zafiropoulos. Cousins' last name were Sirsuras and Giamas. My dad changed his name from Elias Eliopoulos to Louis E. Poulos. His brothers, Constantine changed to Gust Poulos, and Ioannes changed to John. All came to the U. S. in the early 1900's. Their cousin Georgios Giamas came to the U.S. too. They all lived in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Denver, Colorado and in Chicago, Illinois, Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska.. They all returned to Council Bluffs, Iowa,to live and raise their children. They all died in or around the C. B., Ia area. Their other Eliopoulos siblings who remained in Toporista, Greece, were: Ioannes, Theodoros, Varcelia, Maria, and Elaine. We were told that Petros' parents were John and Maria Eliopoulos. My dad, Louis, kept contact with the two girls until late l959. Varcelia was married to a Greek priest who was killed by the Germans in the 1940's. Elaine was said to have been blind. My dad was the youngest and he was born in 1903. Does anyone have any information on any of these decendents from Toporista,. If so, please contact me so that we may share our family info. and photos. Thanks, Kathie Poulos Notify Administrator about this message?
