I'm looking for anyone researching James Clark/Greaves, born Hartwell 1814. James was the illegitimate son of Sarah Clark. James married Susanna Herbert in Hartwell in 1832 and their children were Robert Graves, Elizabeth (Betsy), Thomas, Mary Greves, Joseph (all born Hartwell) and Martha (Hanslope).
There are some interesting name changes. James was married to Susanna as James Graves CLARK. Betsy's 1836 baptism record shows James Graves and Susanna CLARK as parents, while Robert 1833 has James Graves and Martha CLARK and the rest Thomas 1830, Mary & Joseph 1842 show James & Martha Graves CLARK. By 1841 census James was known as James GREAVES and all the children from then on seem to have used the GREAVES surname.
My particular interest is in the family of Thomas who married Mary LANE and together they had 15 children the 13th being my grandfather Horace.
