Cindy, I have the Smith Jarratt and Allied Families book by Austin Wheeler Smith, that's where I found some of the information.
I mentioned the spelling Graves/Greaves, I have Graves in West and Middle Tennessee in my line, also related to these families thru Jacob Mason, son of Isaac Mason Jr.and Parthena Hall.
All from Rutherford, Williamson, Davidson Co. late 1790's early 1800's. These Graves/?Greaves, have ties to Gregory, Watkins,Seat,Vaughan,Adams, lines in Va. Currey and Mason in N.C.
I would not be surprized if Jonathan Greaves is somehow related to this Graves line. These same Graves haves sons from the family in Tn. that went to Ala. and Texas.
I also found my Graves in the book 'Joseph Gregory, The Centenarian, 1742-1842 Mecklenburg Co.Va. to Rutherford Co.,Tn.' by Josephine Gregory Spears. The number of families that are related in the Smith Jarratt Book has surprized me.
I have found ties to Cowan, King,Majors,Peebles,Webb in my reading of related families. If I come across anything that is related to Jonathan and his parents or family I will let you know.
Fred McCord in Nashville
