Hello Christopher,
I have a James Greaves in my family tree but am not sure when or where he was born, all the information I have on him is as follows.
James Greaves married Mary ...?(surname Unknown) They lived in Loughborough, Leicestershire England. James and Mary had the following children Robert bapt, 9 Sept 1782 Loughborough (he married Mary Renshaw); Jane bapt, 2 Aug 1787 Loughborough; James bapt, 16 April 1789 Loughborough; Sarah bapt, 27 Jan 1792 Nottingham St. Mary's; Thomas bapt, 27 June 1795 Notts St. Mary's; Mary Ann bapt, 14 Sept 1800 Notts St. Mary's; Joseph bapt, 10 June 1810 Notts St. Mary's; William bapt, 25 July 1811 Notts St. Mary's; and lastly Elizabeth bapt, 17 Dec 1815 Notts St. Mary's.
