Dale, I've been waiting for you to email me. I'm wanting you to get into SAR on our ancestor, John Castle's, service. DAR based John's service first on a "citizen issued cert as per Act of 20 Aug 1781". I got the record from a book by OKelley and Warren, GA Rev Bounty Land Records, p 33 and p 55. Men who resided in Ga when the rev began and were forced to flee GA to other states to continue fighting the British were identified as Refugees. John Castle received this land grant in 1785? DAR gave him credit for other service in SC, also. My point here is to tell you that you can get into SAR on our John Castle's service without having to prove or even believe that his wife was Christian Greathouse. I am convinced she was d/o Jacob Greathouse, but proving John back to this land in Germany Creek in Richmond Co that fell into Columbia Co, GA and is now McDuffie Co. GA is enough. We don't need to go back further. Larealia
