Grayson, Louisiana was named for Wiley Blount Grayson, born in Caldwell Parish on 11-3-1829. His parents were Alfred M. Grayson and Elizabeth Bowden Grayson. Wiley B. Grayson was a planter, store operator, Mason, tax collector, and Police Jury member. His wife was Josephine Boatner of East Baton Rouge Parish. This information comes from "Caldwell Parish In Slices" by Ted Woods. I am descended from Wiley Blount Grayson's brother, John Overton Grayson and my grandfather was named in his honor, Wiley Joseph Grayson.
