Potentially the following surnames are all linked to each other. It would be fantastic if we could generate enough interest to determine through the DNA effort how many are actually linked. Crabill, Crable, Grabeal, Grabill, Grable, Graybeal, Graybill, Graybiel, Grebel, Greble, Krabel, Krahenbuhl, Kraybill. ---------------------------------- The Graybeal / Graybill Surname DNA Project is now set up and operating. If you go to the following URL for FTDNA Projects http://www.familytreedna.com/projects.aspx either type Graybeal in the search window or scroll to the alphabet table and click on g and then scroll down to Graybeal/Graybill and click and it will take you to the Graybeal surname Project page. http://www.familytreedna.com/group-join.aspx?Group=Graybeal At this page you can select a test kit to purchase. After extensive discussions with the FTDNA staff I have reached a conclusion that to accomplish the goals of linking back in time to the 1700s in PA, MD, VA and NC that the optimum test is the Y-DNA 37marker test kit. The group price for this kit is $149 plus tax. Also, at this page you can click on www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/graybeal and it will take you to our Graybeal/Graybill Surname Project Page. At this page you can view the information as a guest or if you have chosen to participate as a tester you can login. At this point in time we have 5 Graybeal males that have submitted test kits to the FTDNA labs. Kenneth A Graybeal – From the PA/VA Graybill lines Kyle R Graybeal – From “Old Peter”/Peter/David/Joseph/David Melvin/Joseph Arthur/Kyle V line Willie Bearl Graybeal – From “Old Peter”/Peter/Henry/Andrew(1W)/John Milton/George Emmett/Milton Spencer line Gary Graybeal – From “Old Peter”/Peter/Henry/Andrew(2W)/Wiley Thomas/Tivis Henry line Howard Carl Graybeal – From “Old Peter”/Peter/Henry/Andrew(2W)/Wiley Thomas line It is our hope that we can get other males from the other Graybeal/Graybill lines to be tested. For instance: we need to get one or more males from the “Old Peter”/Peter/Michael Peter Graybill line we need to get one or more males from the “Old Peter”/brothers of our Peter (Rudolph, Jacob, John, or Joseph) lines from MD we need to get more males from the PA/VA Graybill lines So please talk to the male Graybeal/Graybill cousins and see if they are willing to get tested. The FTDNA staff feels that with the Y-DNA 37 marker data that we can connect back at least 5 generations and hopefully 6 or 7 generations. This would hopefully show genetic connections back to MD/PA/VA and hopefully to Europe (Palatinate Region Central Europe and/or Switzerland). Notify Administrator about this message?
