Hello Dorothy,
I'm curious if you have anything further, say in the 1700s, on the Gravitt Family? My paternal great-grandmother was a Gravitt (Sebra Elizabeth Gravitt b. 1843, m. Stephen W. Beverly, 7-25-1860 in Grant Co., KY).

As I am sure you know, the Visitation mentioned in your post is the Heraldic Visitation by Kings of Arms to inspect and register Coats of Arms in England, Wales and Ireland. They also registered Pedigrees, a good source of genealogy records and did them between 1530 (Henry VIII) and 1688.

My tree, as currently stands, goes back through George Samuel Gravitt, Sr. b. c1783, d. bef. 1860, m. Sally Page. Suspect his unknown father was Rev. War Patriot, but not sure.

Google Books has one volume online, but I found no Gravitt (under that spelling) mentioned. I've not worked on Gravitt for probably 8 years, so my info is old. A gentleman, possibly kin, from Arkansas recently e-mailed me asking for information, which got me back into them again.
