Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
You seem to have a considerable knowledge of Gravitts (and all their spellings), perhaps you can help me tie my line to some of your information. My g-g-grandfather was Thomas P. Gravitt, born 1843 in KY and married a Jane Cox. I have reason to believe his father was a George S. Gravitt, however, there was at least one George Gravitt in EVERY generation, which makes it difficult to follow. Census records in KY show George Gravitt in Franklin Co in 1810 & 1820, then in Clark Co in 1830, plus a G.S. Gravitt in 1830 in Grant Co. In 1840 there was a George D. in Franklin Co, a George S. in Grant Co, along with my Thomas P. Gravitt. I have a lot of earlier unconnected information on Gravitt, including a George who married a Catherine (Caty) 9 May 1756.
I am especially interested in any children born to your number 1, George S. and Catherine. Thanks.
