I, (Lizzie) Elizabeth Mae Flippen Puckett (born 2/23/1892 at Martinsville, VA married Walter Louis Puckett born 3/28/1892 on 10/5/1914) am the daughter of John Thomas Flippen, Jr and Sarah (Sadie) Richardson.
One of Lizzie's daughters, Elizabeth Mae Puckett is my mother.
"Joseph Gravely gave of his time and means for the Cause of Independence. He was at Eutaw Springs, Yorktown, and Guilford Courthouse. He furnished money and tobacco to Gen. Washington. That said Joseph Gravely is the ancestor who assisted in establishing American Independence, while acting in the capacity of Private in James Tarrant's Co. under Col. Abram Penn." Hope this is helpful to someone. I'm trying to make a connection to Chief Justice John Marshall. Frances W. H. Marshall listed above I believe is the daughter of Dennis Marshall and Cassandra Alfriend.
Dennis Marshall was the son of Samuel Marshall b. 1756 who is the son of Thomas Marshall b. 1754. Does anyone know where I can confirm this...Thanks for your help
