Hi - I am one of those Gravels from Ware, Ma. My pepere, Wilfred David Gravel, married Dorilla Phaneuf (who was, herself, I think, a LeClaire - there were about 12 kids in the merged Phaneuf-LeClaire family). Wilfred and Dorilla had a daughter, Jeanette, who was a victim of influenza in 1917 (?) at age 7. They also had 2 sons - Roland, (born 1919? - died 2000), and my father, Raymond Ferdinand, (1922-1996). Together, the boys were responsible for 9 more Gravel children, and 25 Gravel grandchildren (and to date, 8 great-grandchildren). I grew up in Ware, next door to the store/bakery/butcher shop (WD Gravel & Sons) that my family ran until 1971. Unfortunately, I've never heard of Gravel's Luncheonette, but maybe my older brother or sister - or my cousins - have. I'll ask them. I am looking for information about my pepere's ancestry - we are travelling to Brittany next spring and plan to stay several days in Dinard, the birthplace of Joseph Masse Gravel. I would love to trade information with anyone who can help me. Thanks for posting! Notify Administrator about this message?
