Marcel Gravel, born 3 January and baptised 4 January 1836 at St. Martin-de-Tours Catholic Church in Laval, Ile Jesus, Quebec, was the son of Joseph Gravel and Marguerite-Christine Vinet. He married Marceline Gagnon, daughter of Francois Gagnon and Emilie Dagenais on 24 October 1864 at St. Martin in Laval.
