Hi Stefan
It's a pitty that the family Grau from Kerzers FR has so little interest to find out more about their ancestors. Well, on my researches I've found out, that there are two different families. One is most likely from Belgium and had spread to Germany and later to America. The other family has it's origin in Catalunya. I've spend a significant amount of time to find out more about the name Grau in Barcelona. It's also interesting to see the reaction of Catalans when they hear my name, but noone was able to explain why. The family sign shows a red hand (meaning a mark of a baronet) and a red cross (possibly a cross moline or cross formee) and I'm trying like to find out more about the exact meanings of these signs and why they came in to our family coat of arms. Hope we can work out more information together. Le deseo mucha suerte saludos, Markus Grau
