Hello Grassi family!
I am the great granddaughter of Carmela/Carman De Martino. Her daughter, my grandma was Lillian Fattoruso Cromarty from NJ and Copiague, NY. My mom is Kerry Cromarty. I am Donna Yancosek, born in Amityville, NY. I live in Texas.
Carmela's younger sister was Christina De Martino Grassi....born maybe in the US at the turn of the century.
Carmela's Story:
Carmela came over from Salerno, Naples in 1899 with 3 brothers at age 18. Her parents were Saverio and Lucy Marazzo De Martino.
Saverio and Lucy/Lucia/Lucille were in the USA for about 14 mo's before Carmela and the boys arrived. They left Carmela in Italy at age 16 to care for 4 kids. 3 brothers Basilco, Saverio, and Ciro. There was a little girl who fell into a VERY hot tub and either drowned or died from burns in Italy. Maybe why Saverio and Lucy had Christina in the USA! The brothers names became American and changed! To what? I dont know! One was Sam? Anyway, Christina must have been born around 1899 on. I have a picture of her in 1948 and she looked up there in age.
I have 2 pictures of Christina's sons: Ercole and his brother Daniel when they were kids. One of the brothers commited suicide when he was 35. I have another photo of one of them in WWII military uniform. I know there was a sister...maybe Gaydos from Pa?
This side is from NJ and Pa I believe.
Can you all help me on the genealogy?

I know she used to go visit her relatives in Cannonsberg, Pa.
She had a dear cousin Carmie in Pa I think and Tony Lombardo in NJ???
