Adolph Anton Gresser where did he go?

Adolph Anton Gresser disappeared from Evansville, Indiana 1870 about, broken hearted over the loss of his children. They had been hidden from him and grew up in Evansville. Does anyone know the where abouts that he then settled in? On his marriage license he spelled his name Graesser or Graisser. Hard to tell. His children were all given different spellings to hide there where abouts.
