Ronald Archibald Grant, of Westford, MA, died Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at Lowell General Hospital.
He was married to Mrs. Lea (Solo) Grant with whom he celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary in October.
Born in Nova Scotia, Canada on April 5, 1920, the son of the late Archibald and Catherine (Merlin) Grant. He was a graduate of Ringe Technical High School of Cambridge, MA with the class of 1938.
He served with the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII.
He retired in 1990 from Nuclear Metals of Concord, MA after 37 years of employment.
He was a member of H.E. Fletcher Club of Westford, MA. He enjoyed playing basketball and volleyball. His true love was playing softball in an over 30 league until the age of 79 years old with the Westford Men's Over 30 Softball League.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Grant of Hampton, NH, Thomas and Brenda Grant of Hudson, NH, and Steven Grant of Westford, MA; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lisa Grant of Lowell, MA, Lorraine and Mark Daniele of Westford, MA, and Tina and Richard Parks of Nashua, NH; two sisters, June Walker of Bellingham, MA, and Eunice Tighe of Hudson, MA; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late William Grant, Merlin Grant, Evelyn McKinley, and Eileen McGurk.
GRANT -- Ronald A. Grant, of Westford, MA, died Dec. 8, 2010. Visiting hours Sun. 3 to 7 p.m. at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX ST., CHELMSFORD.
