Hello everyone. I have been trying to research my Grant line. I'm curious if anyone has any information about them. Anything with a (?) beside it I'm not 100% sure of, but thought I would include it in case it helps (and to confirm it if possible).
My great-great grandmother is Mary E(Ellen?) Grant of TN. She married Thomas Hector Whitis of KY. Rumor has it that she died in Rector, Arkansas -- I have been trying to locate where she might be buried. Thomas remarried after she died and moved back to Kentucky.
I believe Mary's father is Charles W. Grant, and her mother is Amanda M(Melina?) Bowling(?). I have found them on the 1850 Montgomery Co. TN census.
A few lines above them is a Samuel Grant (VA) and Eliza. I have been told they might be Charles' parents.
Does anyone have any information on Charles to confirm that link, as well as any other information on Samuel and this Grant family?
