Pres. Grant was a member of the Clan Grant , as are all Grants in the world ,(excepting the few people who have used the Grant name for whatever reason).
If you mean that you are looking for the descendants of slaves who were of the Grant who was the president of the United States of America , then your search may well stop right here.
This according according to the records ;
" On August 28, 1848, Grant married Julia Dent from St. Louis, whose family held slaves. Grant himself owned a slave named William Jones, acquired from his father-in-law. At a time when he could have desperately used the money from the sale of Jones, Grant signed a document that gave him his freedom. "
Perhapses you are of line of Grants from one of U. S. Grant's close relations .
