Hello, I'm 2 years late to this conversation...
I have a Donald Grant in my ancestry, but he married a Margaret Ross. He is listed as being from either Nigg or Tain (which are very close). He died in Ardersier, being discharged with an injury from the 78th Regiment.
Donald and Margaret had 3 daughters, May (1835), Isabel (1837), Catherine (1843), Margaret (1845), and son John (1839)...all born in Ardersier.
Donald died in 1867, and Margaret died in 1860.
Do they appear on your trees at all?
