I went back through my notes. It's so good to hear from you. Have you identified the parents of this James Grant? He seems to fit Joshua...

"NEHGR," 82:214, March 6, 1742/3 - " . . . James son of Joshua Grant were baptised.";.

As you may recall, my ancestor is a James and has been said to be the son of this Joshua, but I haven't been able to prove that. I actually think I have disproven that, but it has been so long since I've muddled through it that I can't really give you any details. I keep waiting for enough time to puzzle it through. Your news is an important missing piece.

If your James is the son of Joshua, I don't think he can be the same as my James. Joshua's other son, Joshua, had children that settled in Shapleigh, like my James, this is what adds to the confusion.

Please keep track of my email address and keep in touch. Thank you.
