An excellent portrait by Gilbert Stuart of Mrs. Patrick Grant (b. Anna Powell Mason, 1789-1861) appears in an ad in ANTIQUES magazine of October 2006 on p. ll. Anna became the wife of Patrick Grant (d. 1812 at sea) in ca. 1807. He was a "successful Scottish immigrant who settled in Boston in 1800. An agent for several European firms, Grant was lost at sea in 1812 on his way home from France, and he left Anna with one child, Patrick (1809-1895)." I am scanning this page in case any of Mr. & Mrs. Grant's descendants might like a copy, either by email or by postal mail. Someone in the Mason or Grant family ought to have it--it's too good to be missed by the families. My email address can be found by clicking on my underlined name above. Please reply to me directly at that email address rather than on this Genforum site, which I probably will not see. If it were a portrait of a Mr. Pease, I'd certainly want someone to do the same for me. Notify Administrator about this message?
