Ethelbert B. Granger b. abt. 1856 NC
son: James Wiley Granger b. 30 May 1903 Pasquotank Co, NC.
his son: James Norman Granger b. 13 June 1927, Pasquotank Co, NC.

Ethelbert must have been an orphan because, in 1860 he was 4 years old and living with a farmer, William C. Foster. In the 1870 census, when he was 14 years old, he was still living with the Fosters on their 7000 acre farm and he was shown as a laborer. In 1880 he was married to Mary Susan (last name unknown) and had one child, Martha Francis Granger. Census info on him is not available (reason unknown) for 1890 and 1900. His first wife and child must have died, because by 1910 he was married to Susan Elizabeth Brothers and they eventually had eight children, the second one being James Wiley Granger.

I have more information. Write to me at lazy-wife-36@hotmail.com. And you are not kin to me. I'm a Cajun and NONE of these names are Cajun names!
