Granade PALATINE Data, folks!
For you Granade researchers who have brick-walled in finding anything out about your earliest ancestors who emigrated to the pre-New Bern area ca 1709, you need to get your hands on the 3-volume set of "(New York) Even More Palatine Families:18th Century Immigrants to the American Colonies and their German, Swiss and Austrian Origins," by Hank Jones and Lewis B. Rohrbach. The 2nd volume deals with those people who came into the Neuse-Trent River area. You can probably get this set of books through a regional library or from a univ. library on Interlibrary Loan.I do know that Granade data is in the 2d book, along with a tremendous amount of information on this and many other lines (several of my own, too).I thought that since one of the Granades came from Beaufort in 1831 with my great-grandfather (Joseph Fulford) to New Bern, that I would like to share this information about the set of books with other researchers. If you want to find out more about this 3-volume set, you can access the data by going to www.pictonpress.com/catalog/details.htm? to see what else is contained in the literature about the series.Good luck, and happy hunting.
