Gramling Family Genealogy Forum

Patricia, I was so thrilled to get your message and when you said Paragould AR., I knew that I was on yhe right track. Because I had only said Crowley's Ridge and the chances of anyone even knowing where it was wonderful. I feel like a fool though because I called my sister this morning to ask her a few questions. She has a Gramling Family Tree Genealogy that dates back to the 1700's she said. Lordy, I sure didn't know that! She knew that I was working on our mother's maiden name and on our Grandparents and so forth. She wanted to know why I wanted to know about the Gramling's since I wasn't one. It had never Occurred to her that I might be interested. Here is what she told me: Carlos Edward Gramling (my step-father's siblings were: Estes, Joe, & Agnes. There father was George Gramling and their mother was Lucy Crowley. She said that their was three sets of George & Lucy's due to the renaming patterns in families, but that she couldn't remember the dates off-hand. My sister said that the Gramlings and Crowley's have been studied quite extensively and that their is a book at the Green County Library on them. Carlos is buried at Warren's Chapel between Paragould AR & Walnut Ridge AR where the rest of his family are buried. I never knew that her Grandmother was a Crowley before. I knew that Carlos was from Crowley's Ridge tho! I will still appreciate any info that your mom can get for me tho because I may get the info faster from your Mom than my Sister. I live in the Houston TX area now & it's a long way from Piggott AR where I grew up. Piggott is in Clay County which is right next to Green County. I was born in Paragould AR in 1947 at the hospital, but my parents lived in Greenway Ar (Clay Co also) which is 29 miles from Paragould. My sister still lives in Piggott AR (which is 33 miles from Paragould) where she has lived all her life. Please email me back! contini@netzero.net
Thanks...Mary
