I can't believe you have listed the same Graham I am searching for info on.I have had no luck.My great grandmother was the daughter of William's daughter, Mary Elizabeth. Here is the info I have.
Margeret Papineau married William Graham.(Margeret's parents were Joseph Papineau and Roseanne Ross) Their daughter, Mary Elizabeth Graham, I have listed as being born Oct 5th 1856, but that doesn't make sense since you show William and Margeret's marriage as Dec 27, 1858.Mary Elizabeth married Richard Dean and their daughter Anna Mary Dean, born Apr 17, 1887 was my great grandmother.(I have some info all her siblings and many of their descendants.)I have the samename listings for William and Margeret's children as you do(although my grandmother called Anne "Annie Rose", but no dates or info on their families.
My grandmother died in the 1980's but she always claimed that her grandfather, William descended from Sir David Graham of Claverhouse in Dundee Scotland.I don't know if this is true now because I can't find any descendents listed for him.I have some old Clan books from the 1800's that I inherited, and they list the Grahams of Claverhouse as being ended with the death of John Graham, the first Viscount(Bonny Dundee) who died in 1689 at the battle of Killiecrankie, his son James (2nd Viscount) died as an infant and John's brother David became the thrid viscount, but also died in 1700. A cousin (David Graham of Duntroon and then his son William Graham of Duntroon inherited the title ofViscount, but I don't know what happened to that branch either). So the only way I can think that we could really be from that part of the family is if either John or David had illigitimate children or if they had a sister who marriedinto another branch of the Graham family.
I used to believe we were descended from this family, but since my dead end, I am wondering if it was just a family legend.I know my Grandmother firmly believed it, but since I cannot find anything from before William to connect them, I don't know.
Sir David could have been anyone, since I don't know the date or how far back he supposedly was related.David and William Graham are such common names, I am stuck here.
I would be very interested to know which branch you have come down through, and I will continue my search and would be happy to pass along anything I find.
Regards,
Deborah McColeman
