Lavette,
First of all, have you made any headway since 2010? From all I have seen lately, I believe yours & mine (Grahams) may be connected, after all. All the names in my family's Bible coupled with their proximity to some of these other counties in SW MS are leading me to that conclusion.
ALL Grahams, especially as far as I'm acquainted with over the past nine years, both historically AND genetically, ARE "Highland Grahams". First of all, the Montrose line is descended from the Earl of Strathearn, a GAELIC Earldom which USED to be a PICTISH one. Both the "Lowland" AND Border lines of Grahams are descended from this union, just to mention ONE instance of mixing with those of Gaelic blood. I have spoken with the head honcho of the ACTUAL Clan Graham in Britain (himself a former professional historian), who confirmed this. Also, even Grahams who are "Grahams" in name ONLY are mostly of one or more broken Highland clans who, at some point in time or another, pledged fealty to the existing Graham chief.
Where did you first hear of "Robert Graham, born in 1740 in Scotland" being your ancestor? Does that still stand after all these years?
Please e-mail me at [email protected]
Thanks!
Steve J. Canton
