Mr. Graham,
I see from your posts that you are publishing a book about the Grahams.I don't know if I have a connection to the NC Grahams of Rowan County or not.I am looking for William M. Graham born 1841 Georgia, son of David Graham and Sarah Ann unknown.David Graham shows his birth from census records as born SC about 1812.He is in Hall County, Georgia in 1840 census and on this page is Martin Graham born 1806 SC married.David only had the one son William M. and then, Lucretia E. born 1842.William M. Graham married Mary J. M. Simpson (born 1846 Spartanburg, SC and moved to Pendleton, SC)on Feb. 1871.They went to Mississippi and had Annie Bessie Graham, Bertie Henry Graham and David William Graham. Both buried in Hinds County, Mississippi.Martin Graham stayed in Georgia and married twice; one to Elizabeth Riley and had James D. Graham.James D. Graham b. 1838 died 1919 was a doctor and is buried, Dalton, Whitfield County, GA.Do any of these Grahams connect with any Grahams you have?I am actually trying to connect the Simpson and Graham families out of SC.
Also, I see you have Cowan ancestors. My grgrgrandmother was Elizabeth Ann Snoddy (married Capt. William Simpson) daughter of John Snoddy and Mary Daniel, John Snoddy was son of Samuel Snoddy and Elizabeth Cowan.Revolutionary War pension filed by Elizabeth Snoddy states she was living in Abbeville, SC in 1791 when Samuel Snoddy married her.
My ultimate goal is to find my Simpson's before Capt. William b. 1812.I noticed you grew up in Greenville, SC.My Simpson line stayed in Pendleton, SC where my grandfather, William Graham Garland Simpson was born and my father and I was born in Anderson.I am also related to the Fosters of Spartanburg. My grgrandmother was Augusta Foster, dau of Garland Foster, son of Major William Foster (as he's been called) out of Virginia. She married John William Simpson, son of Capt. William.
Sorry to go on so long.If you find any connection to your Grahams in this information, I would appreciate hearing from you.Good luck with your book.I'm sure it will be a welcome addition in the genealogy world. You can email me direct.
Cynthia
